Just wondering if there are any special considerations when
changing the steering rack in an EA? remove tie rods, unbolt chasis bolts and remove lines? What about placing the tie rods at right length?

Done it in an EF and it is pretty much what you said - remove tie rod ends, remove PS lines, remove PS sensor, unbolt.

If you are putting the PS rack back in, you can mark on the thread where the tie rod ends thread to and then just screw it back to that point when you put them back on. If you are replacing the rack, I would just take a guess and then get a wheel alignment ASAP.

I was about to ask a question along a simmilar line. I have an ea with a bung steerinrg rack. I also have an ef wreck with a good rack. Can I swap it over?
