I have a 1996 Ford E-150 van that I bought a year ago and put 2,000 miles on. The front tire show a noticeable amount of greater wear than the rear tires. I would think it would be smart to rotate them to the back thinking the fronts wear faster. The tire guy says they wear about the same, what is the true story? I dont know if they were all equal when first put on the van but if they were the fronts wore quicker. Do front tires generally wear quicker and wouldnt a rotate to the rear be a smart move?

E-Series vans over time will start to sag in the front and will need to be aligned. The camber goes way out on them causing inside edge tire wear. Setting the camber is not a fun job since the upper ball-joint has a shim that will need replaced with the proper degree of pitch to straighten it out.

Seriously, stand back from the front of your E-150, hunch down and look at how the front wheels are not straight.

Thanks Mullet. They did an alignment when I had a steering arm replaced.

So how about the tires could you say if you had x amount left or there was an x amount of difference in wear it would make sense to swap.

I want to get max usage out of these and at 650 a set if I can save 1/6th of the life of the tires I see that as 100 in savings.

Swap them now and also take note of how the ones from the rear wear on the front now.
