Re: Scraping sound rear drivers side brake

Is it the wear indicator for the pads on that corner?

Tell us what you find. That's a common thing though.

Re: Scraping sound rear drivers side brake

Well my right rear caliper seized up, as were most of the ones I looked at as a replacement

Re: Scraping sound rear drivers side brake

I have the same noise from my Handbrake (not the wife).

It's been adjusted 6 times but is never fixed. The only time it doesn't make the noise is when it is fully adjusted out so I don't have a handbrake. Or when I'm driving with the handbrake on...

Please let me know if you find a solution.

Darren

Re: Scraping sound rear drivers side brake

Had this problem - new handbrake pads and new DBA slotted rotors fixed it. But I'm just waiting for it to come back again.

noise gone

well i took off rds wheel today and checked out the offending disk rotor and caliper, pads were at about 50% wear and no scoring of rotor.
so i cleaned the guides where the pad sits in caliper and sprayed some wd40 on handbrake cable to wash of some dirt and crap, then put some light machine oil on cable and worked the handbrake on and off a few times to help the lubricant get down into outer casing.
so far so good no more noise :)

the next few weeks will tell the final outcome.....
