I put new shocks in about 7 months ago now there thumpin and banging, seems the rubber on the bottom mount is history can the rubbers be replaced somehow?

Yes; Nolathane have replacement ones that will also last longer..

Cool I was just wondering. I read something on another forum recently about Monroe shocks having longevity issues.

All Monroe shocks have a 2 year warranty. Call 1800 069 999 and see what they say.

My mistake, turns out the bottom mounting bolt tends to loosen and make a clunking sound and as the monroe guy said it must be done up "super tight" did that and theres no noise now (it was only a quarter turn)

may be worth dipping the thread in some lock-tight (loctite?) or similar

Yes, i had the same problem, except the previous owner didn't maintain it properly. I had to put new shockers on the rear, now nor worries. Just now have to replace the Rubbers in the front and leafs in the back.
