Well i had fitted to Dad's EL a set of KYB's yesterday, must say they do feel better than the stock Monroe jazz they wack on at the factory.
But speaking from expereince, i reckon the Pedders Sports Rider i got on my baby kills it for handling and directional change. And mines a wagon.
I'll post the codes of the shocks i used on dads car and mine when i get home, i don't have them on me here.
Full credit to Wholesale Suspension in Penrith they gave me a top deal on the shocks, got the KYB's for the Gabriell price.

I had the day off so I visited Whole Suspension for the damage on a set of King springs for XR6.
The guy claimed the XR's already have the equivalent of the lows, so the new down was the super-low. I'm a bit iffy about going super-low again after going thru scrapage hell with the old EA, but they had just done a brand spanking new blue XR (came off the truck yesterday) with king springs/koni shocks and it did sit much better (he didn't have the body kit though to reduce clearance). The set was $495 fitted with w/a.
I have those KYBs on the EA, and I thought they were pretty good.

Venom S, the KYB's fitted on Dad's EL was the 833001 which are the shocks fitted to EA-EL falcons. IS yours the same as the ones i got? The shocks cost $330 a pair for the fronts.

Just for the record I have the Pedders GSR9918 they sell for $370 a pair. I do feel there a tad more bumpy and jiggly on rough roads but IMO they hang on like buggery, very very impressed by there cornering ability. Also i fitted a Set of King springs standard height on the front as well which costed $135 a pair.

Yeah, not sure on the part #, but they were heavy duty KYBs, f/r.

If anyone is interested, I can get King Springs for the XR's for approx $50 a corner.
(It was $120 for one pair, $80 for the other - cant remember if this price includes GST or not)
Available in Low (30 - 40mm lower than standard), and super low (40 - 50mm lower than standard)
And if you dont mind driving out to the parramatta area, I can get a guy to fit them for you, for a very good price (he is a multi site manager, of a well known exhaust / suspension chain)
Can also get shocks (monroe, pedders, koni etc etc) at close to half price. :D :D

They seem to soak the bumps better than the falc. so i would like a set of whatever they have..
ALSO does anyone else with an AUII notice the bloody horrible clunks from front and rear suspension every time you go over a rough bump etc?
In Griffith the roads are all quite harsh and rough, which makes my AUII always have this bloody annoying clunk....
This clunk business your experiencing is what happend to an AU2 Fairmont i drive when i'm at work it's got 17k on the clock. After hearing from a few people it seems the lower mounting of the shock loosens it's self there for you get the clucks.
My advise is go to the ford dealer and have the suspension checked out and tightened, or if your after shock replacement go to a suspension specialist and they'll give a choice of a few shocks depending on your drivng and comfort.
I think the Commo are Monroe jobbies as well.
