Slicks (Sticky Rubber)

Anyone know where you'd pick up some slicks to suit either 16" or 17" Dia rims? Are there tyre dealers who specialise in 2nd hand race rubber?.. I really don't want to fork out 6..700 bucks for new M/Ts. This is only to see what improvement can be got outta the Pursuit with a bit of traction.
Before 10th Jan preferably?
