when i put my foot on the brake when stopped at lights or just idling, the revs fluctuate from 1000rpm to 0 and then is keeps wanting to stall. possible vacuum problem???? i was thinking maybe brake booster leak or something similar. has n e one had similar problems? if so how can i fault find?

With mine it was supposedly a combination of a dodgy ECU and oxygen sensor.

Plug or back off the booster and see if it still happens that will tell you straight away.

Check for vacuum leaks, the valve on booster may not be working either,so it won't be storing any vacuum.Then when you use brakes it robs it from engine..Or even leaking diaphram in booster..Better get it checked out !!!
