G'day
As i'm driving along a road sometimes i'll hear a pretty quiet (but loud enough to annoy me) knock coming from the rear of the car, (going over a bump) at first i thought it was my tow bar loose, as it sounded exactly like that. but upon inspection it turns out to be perfectly tight. could be rear shocks be on their way out?

Mate has your car been lowered?
It may be the driveshaft hitting the tunnel.
Or a worn bush in the control arm.

no my car atm has 4x4 ride height, it's really bad, with the EF all-famous fairmont alloys. I'm getting around to putting new rims on and lowering. as soon as i get the cash

in short, my car hasn't been lowered. it's prolly just a rooted shocker!

oh oh and squeeky springs? whats the deal with that?

just lean under the car and have someone lightly bounce on the rear of the car now feel the bottom shocker bolt can you feel the knocking? if yes its the shocker cheers

could be top shock mount rubbers or shock. worn upper or lower control arm bushes or sway bar D bushes or even watts linkage. Just a few other things

is it like a hollow thump - like sumthin in the boot bouncing?

if so dont worry bout cos every model falcon i've been in from el to au does it.

My wifes EL Futura does it, my AUXR8 does it - and it has irs and my mates AUXR6 does it.

Honestly i think its the spare or even the jack bouncing on the tank well (yes it is bolted in tight) and it only happens on certain bumps.

Anyway thats if its the same sound
