I get this funny noise when I apply the brakes, the sound of gas escaping under pressure. Seems to be coming from the general area of the pedal box, any ideas as to what?

It's just started happening since I did the BBM/springs, spose I shouldn't do more than one thing at once hey?

check the vacuum line going from your brake booster, if not the diaphram in the booster is worn...

be careful because the boosters go without much warning and the pedal goes rock hard

I thought it might be the booster hose, however it's on properly, I tripple checked. Brake level fluid is fine.

How else can I check if it's the diaphram? And how hard are they to replace?

Do you have cruise control that doesn't work? The brake pedal opens a vacuum line to switch it off - I had a problem, cap had fallen off the switch and it made a hissing sound when brakes were applied

I have cruise control, but I don't have a cruise cable so I really can't check if it is working or not.

The cruise is a pnuematic system. if the cap is off the button, the vaccuum sucks are when the brake pedal is pushed in. Does this only happen when the cruise control is on - or all the time (Trying to remember how it was on my car)
