suspension update
Just thought I'd update on the suspension problems I was having a couple of weeks ago.
When I bought the EA it had a very low back and a standard front. The girl I got it off had no idea what had been done to the susp. as she had owned the car for 3 weeks.
I got in touch with the owner before her and found out it had super lows on the back and late model Ford ute springs on the front. Obviously it handled like a dog. He had the super lows off the front and he very gererously sold them to me for $100.
The front sruts were stuffed so I got a pair of KYB struts for lowered springs.($250). It was then I found out by measuring the height at the back that it was 25 mm lower than super low . I went back to the guy who lowered it and he admited that the springs were reset super lows (?) and the front which I hadn't yet put on were as well. Anyway to keep a long story short I bought Kings super lows ($120 a pair) and some pedders rear shocks for lowered springs. ($150). Also found lower control arms were stuffed as well. ($105 exchange) and universal joints ($50). Anyway it now handles and rides incredibly well. I can certainly reccomend Kings springs. If doing it again I would go for the KYB rear shocks as I feel the Pedders ones are a bit soft. $620 all up for the susp. it looks great as well.
p.s. anyone want some cheap really low springs.
cheers Ross.
