Taurus/Sable Wagon rear handling

My 1994 Sable is great in just about every way but the rear suspension is too darn spongy. All parts are good but the rubbery feeling is built in, as well as the understeer.

I want to stiffen the rear end but I cannot find a source for stuff for the wagons (They are different from the sedans.).

Replacing the bushings, especially the sway bar mounting and ends, would help a whole lot but the bar is only 1/2" diameter. 'Way too small.

A larger bar would be great but just a source for polyurethane bushings for the 1/2" original would transform the car.

If the other bushings are also made for the wagons in polyurethane they would control the rear better, minimizing the toe changes made by the soft rubber original mountings.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

- Chris

(Not looking to build a racer - like "Thumper, the SHO wagon", but a nicer, more surefooted road car)
