Has anyone built a tilt front end for a xy Ute?
Question is,
Will the chassis hold up without the front and inner guards?
Will I need a full chassis?
I am leaning towards a full chassis possibly Holden as it seems to fit to within 5mm
Tend to say it would not hold up as the inner guards, shock towers and radiator support panel are part of the structural integrity of the vehicle. Think you would have to look at a 3/4 or full chassis set up - but you will have to talk with an engineer on this one! Rather than use a holden (sacrilege!) setup, a custom fabricated front end like the rodders build may be better.
I am moving my post over to my other post xy spring tower update
I have decided to go with a full chassis for my xt Ute and a 3/4 chassis for my xy 4 donor cars arrived yesterday and the lads are hard at work pulling them down. The benefits of using donor chassis are they are a proven item not the least 1/1000th of the cost [so far the 4 cars have cost me 4 slabs of beer and 1 slab of Bundy which I help drink last night.]
Any more updates will be posted on XY SPRING TOWER UPDATE.
