OK so here are my premium brakes. They have been painted red leaving the tickford outline and wings as standard.

How did you do it leaving the wings?

We haven't got around to it yet, but we'll either brush on silver or spray it on, then wipe it off leaving the silver in the depressed T.

Had to use a spray on, couldn't find any of the brush on stuff.

Most importantly how do they pull the car up compared to the standard picks? Looking at a new AUIII at the moment and wondering if the extra 3 grand is worth it.

I have no idea! I think it's a case of less brake fade (or none), the premium kit will stop the XR in 46m. Or is it less? Can't remember.

Mate they are fantastic. It is a bit hard to judge seeing as though I haven't driven a car with standard brakes but I tell you what, you stamp on those brakes and you pull up. Quick

When the guys from our Ford dealership fitted our exhaust (before I even knew we were getting it!) the mechanic and our sales person friend went for a cruise and tried out the brakes. Our sales person friend hurt her neck in a stop from 100ks, and that's after she was told what was going to happen!

Premium Brakes? I have them, and have to say they're a necessity. However, I find that over 160km/h under hard braking the vibration is horrendous. I would suspect the grooves on the rotors although I am unsure.

The standard brakes are WOFTAM on the XR8. If I had my time again I'd still go the Premiums. Only other drawbacks are the brake dust, and the fact that I seriously suspect the rotors will be worn to limits after just one set of pads!
