I have changed my brake pads before and the first time went well with no problems, but now I had to change my brakes a few weeks ago and when did the design of the pads change. I doubled check online from Autozone and PartsAmerica (Kregan,Checker) and they all have the same pads, but it doesn't fit my calipers. So I took my old pads back to compare design. The closest pads I can find were from a 2003 Ranger but my truck is a 1993 Ranger. So can anyone tell my what happened in between the 2 years that changed my brakes? BTW, my brakes is half old pad and half new 2003 ranger pads, just to make it kind of work.

Aftermarket includes hundreds of online stores as well to shop from. I know it's easier to go into a store and compare pads, but don't get something that 'looks close' to OE design. I've never had a problem finding pads, even up to a few years ago when I still had my '85 K car. I'd ask at the auto parts store if you should replace the calipers, and if the new calipers will fit the new pads.
