What tyres to get??

hey guys,

i have an EA falcon S and my 205/65 tyres have just abouthad it, im lookin for new tyres,

im wondering which tyres are the best to get?
and is it worth getting wider tyres, will this improve handling? and if so, does it improve it enough to justify the higher cost?

eg, at bib jane, pirelli 205/65 are $119 and pirelli 215/65 are $139

thanking you in advance,

cheers, alex

Alex about how much do you want to spend and what sort of driving do you do. Country some dirt? City freeway. Sports, Touring etc.

Tyres aint tyres

Re: What tyres to get??

Hey, i would suggest getting wider tyers, coz i find that my EA S has chronic understeer when travelling at around 55km around a corner.

As for the price, well it depends on the deal that u can get. Coz there are ppl out there that sell really cheap tyers. Try wreakers, i have heard their tyres are cheap.

Re: What tyres to get??

I would get 215/60 as this is a more common size and will also improve the handling being a lower profile tyre.

You should be able to pick up Yoko A539's in 215/60 for around $130-140 each, these are a great tyre.

Re: What tyres to get??

I agree with walkinshaw, a 225/60/15 is the best size for any falcon suited for daily/spirited driving.

Check out the following:

Bridgestone turanza
Hankook K102 or K104
Dunlop F1's
Yokohama A539

Id personally stay away from some goodyear models and any cheap korean tyres like 'sava' or 'Barum'. Not worth the saving imo.

Re: What tyres to get??

ive got turanza's on the back of my EA now, they have 0.001% of the dry grip that my Ggrids had. Ggrids have a great look, but are known to be noisy and not the best in the wet.
