Looking into the future i wont keep my Ghia rims for ever and will only purchance one set of rims and will do it properly the 1st time. Im wondering what would be the largest rim and tire package possable on an EA.

Looking at the front no wider than 235 or mabey 240 would seem acceptable, however the rear seems to have a fair bit of room, and with rolling the guards it appears if i can get some wide tires in there.

Ive seen an EA Ghia with 17x9 rims with 265's and this looked ok, howerver i would like to go wider. I would love 315/35/18's but I know there is no chance in hell that they would fit, i was thinking that 17 x 9.5 with 295's may fit under the back with very stiff springs and a good rolling of the guard.

Any experence with fitting quite wide tires to the back of an EA/L?

I run a set of YOKOHAMA 352's(white lettering) on my EA Falcon with dimensions 225/60/15 on factory spak snow flakes. $175 fitted each, probably one of the best performing tyres money can buy.

I'm using 255/40/17 on the rear of an XH ute and a EA sedan.
No problems.

I had 245 on 14x8 12slotters, but they hadled shit, i kept gettin tyre roll, but with 17's u shouldnt get that problem.. go 235 on the front with 265 onda back... should be a good compramise. but with 2 different sized tyres u cant rotate them... therefore less usage out of them.

I've driven an EA with 245's and 265's F/R on 14" 12 slotters, it looked really tough, but it handled like shit, they were BF Goodrich Radial T/A's, which wouldn't help, but there was no scraping at all. I Don't think the guards were rolled either

I know you can put 235's on a 14x7 12 slot on an EA no probs but I dont recommend puttin 12 slotters ona E-series car ever!

Any rim wider than an inch from stock can cause you probs with ya insurance. If ya not worried just tub the rear an stick a set of 30in Mickey T's under the bum. I'm sure the pro-stock look will make a few heads turn! hehe

I have had 255's on the rear on a 17x8.5.. no problems, still room for more.

I have also been told that 275's can be put onto the EA with some small mods near the fuel tank, but im unsure of details.

just got some average quotes. 235 17's can be had from arround $180, where as 255's start arround $400 each.......Tire power didnt want to know about 275/295/305's.

im guessing with the correct offset 275/285 should fit.

Bass, the FR17's had 255's of the rear did they?

17x10 with 285's would be nice :)

I paid $180 for 235/45/17 and $220 for 255/40/17. Both Kuhmo 712.

remeber if you go really big on the front your power steering pump may not like it even the grip of my 235's on the front makes it freak out a bit when it's trying to loose traction. you can fix this by fitting an EF tube from the pump to the steering box itself.
