Wheel offset (Stupid Question)

It has been stated that GTs, GT-Ps and T3 with Brembos all have a different offset between the front and rear due to the brakes.

Do XR6Ts and XR8s with Premium brakes also have this offset?

For a start AP's Pursuit has Brembos but same offset front and rear, same as GT front (well actually he has a GT rear offset wheel on the front but that's a special feature). I think it has been discussed that the offset is more to do with filling out the rear guards of the sedans and rear-track modification rather than brake clearance.

In regards to XR's I don't believe there is differing offsets as the brake calipers aren't that much bigger than standard and are cleared by standard 17"s, although an alloy spare is mandatory as a steelie won't clear them.

Re: Wheel offset (Stupid Question)

The offset is not there for the brakes it is there to fill the guards out nothing more, so the XRs will have the same offset as the front of the GTs.
P.S that dos'nt mean you cant put the GT wheels on an XR, no what I mean?

Re: Wheel offset (Stupid Question)

Confirming this fact is that the spare is a 36.5P offset and can be fitted to the rear of such vehicles (i.e. the front wheels still fit on the rear).

However, if you have Brembos don't go assuming most aftermarket 18 and 19 inch rims are going to fit your car because I can assure you it isn't that simple! Make sure when you order wheels for Brembo vehicles the retailer understands the optioned spec of your car so when the wheels arrive you haven't wasted your money!

More than that, make sure you order them on the basis that you will only accept them if they fit over the brakes, and put them on the car to measure & confirm. Only then accept them!
