XC four wheel disk brakes

Hi Guy’s
After some info on 4 wheel disk brakes on an XC GXL,
This is the first 4wd XC I’v owned and was a bitt concerned about the amount of peddle travel, The top two inches when you press the brake and the associated “air” sound.
I had the brakes pressure bled witch made no difference and I was told that’s the way they are.
Is there any alternative booster or some other fix??

Cheers
Linds

Although I can't speak from experience, I have also heard that that's "just the way they are."

Re: XC four wheel disk brakes

Sorry to say no there is not. I have had an XC GXL for the last 15 odd years and when i built the car i rebuilt the whole system from front to back, and that was brand new front and rear calipers and it has always been the same. There is nothing wrong with them that is just the way they are.

Yeah though so.
I agree the brakes work fine, It's just the feel.
I wonder if a later model booster can be made to fit??
I have an AU booster i might have a look at, If it's the booster that causes the feel??.
Thanks for the insight and ill keep you posted as to what i can find to fit as an alternative and the result.
