XC Hopper's front disk upgrade

Anyone had any experience with this upgrade.
1. Is it truly a bolt up fit?
2. Has anyone experienced any durability problems?
3. Is it worthwhile for the extra braking gained? I intend to run standard GXL disks at the rear. How well does the stock master cylinder cope?
4. I assume 16" B45s will fit over the 300mm disks?

Aparently you can now get PBR twin piston calipers that look great. They probably do the same job as the normal ones and just have a very expensive coat of paint. ??
I am waiting for them to email me back a quote.

Speak to Howard at Race Brakes. He will point you in the right direction.

Re: XC Hopper's front disk upgrade

up to 330 mm disks and twin piston calipers will fit under 16's. The "pretty calipers" work just the same as the twin spot PBR's, but as you said are more$$$$.

The older ford rear disk setups(ie XF and older) are all over engineered and are more than capable of keeping up with front brake upgrades. The only downside is the handbrake lever mechanism can seize if not periodically inspected and re-greased.
This might not apply to XC style. But it does apply to XE/F.

Don't use hard compound rear pads, they squeal heaps and get VERY annoying.

I sourced all my Rear brake parts from Hoppers Stoppers, they had the best prices I could find even without trade discount.

By hard compund do you mean something like metal kings? They dont even make those fot my rear brakes. I was thinking of getting Ultimates, I hear they are messy. XC handbrakes are crappiest of the lot I reckon.

No XB handbrakes are the worst.
