XYute-71

Hey was just wondering if i could get some help. I recently purchased a 71 xy ute with front drums. I am dropping a 8 in it and need disks. Wondering what needed to be done. Thanx

I did this conversion on my XY a few years ago.
Parts needed are:
Both front wheel spindles and callipers and flexiable hoses.
Brake booster and master cylinder for disc brakes, plus mounting bracket for booster.
The 3 brake lines for disc brake master cylinder. (Drum brake lines can be made to stretch, but it is easier to fit the disc brake lines).
Disc brake peddle.
I got all the parts off donar cars. XB callipers and spindles. XY booster/master cylinder/bracket, brake peddle and lines.
It took me a afternoon with not to many problems.

Mine was already done 4 me I hav an xr66 wif a clevo and 4 some reason they used a remote booster but everything else is xy stuff. using a donor car would be easier!

I just took out my disc front end for big disc duel spot caliper setup. I have disc, calipers, stub axles and hoses all sitting there it was out a ZA Fairlane. Not sure what it is all worth, but if you are interest send me a PM.

On XR's and earlier, the booster (when fitted) was remote-mounted on the LH side firewall/inner fender area. If that is where yours is, then that is the original setup.

From XT's on, the brake system was a tandem (dual circuit) design, so for a booster to be effective, it had to be mounted behind the master cylinder.
