Hey all,

I just got a 1994 Ford Club Wagon with a 460 in it.

I'm experiencing a misfire at random times while the car is idling (it never completely stalls, it always stays running), and also when decelerating. When I give it gas and accelerate, it doesn't do this.

It had been sitting for about 2 years, and after 1 year they drained the gas, tried to start it, but no go. Then a year later, I took over, added gas to the tank (the tank probably had just a gallon or two of bad gas) and it's misfiring.

I added Fuel Injector Cleaner to the tank, and have 3/4 of a tank of fresh gas in there. I've driven about 10 miles on it, after it was sitting.

Could this be an issue of just the bad gas, or clogged injectors? I'd like to troubleshoot it through about 3 tanks of gas running it almost all the way down to see if it resolves the problem, or could this actually damage something?

Any other ideas? The van runs actually pretty good, minus the rough idle and almost stalling.

I would suggest a tune up to start with and go from there.

Alright a little more information:

I have had a tune up done, and the technician was specifically looking for the cutting out and the misfire. This is what he changed:

New Plugs (OEM FORD)
New Spark Plug Wires (OEM FORD)
New Distributor Cap
New Rotor
Replaced CTS sensor (What is this?)
Changed Ignition coil (same problem)
Cleaned Fuel Injectors
Cleaned Throttle Body

It's running a lot better (timing wise etc) but still has exactly the same cuttnig out. Any ideas what it could be from here? I was thinking of replacing the TFI module.

Replacing the TFI module fixed the problem.
