Hi,

We just had our 1995 Aerostar emissions test done and the NOppm Limit is 0780 but the reading came back at 1219?

Does anyone have any ideas on what needs to be done. Apparently our vehicle has an electronic egr?

Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Two things can cause that problem. A bad cat converter or your EGR as you mentioned. If you've already ruled out the cat then the EGR valve can be replaced. If you have the 4.0L engine you probably do have electronic EGR valve. You can get the part at most places such as AutoZone/Canadian Tire at a cheaper cost than at a dealer. Any competent local shop will be able to install emission components.

hi, our engine is 3 lite, but my husband sez that where the egr should be there is a steel plate over it? he's just wondering if it has a electronic egr. He replaced the sensor yesterday and also adjusted timing..(timing was out) we have bought gasket for egr but can't find the egr valve. (like i said, it has a steel plate over it???) any other suggestions. My husband is Very mechanically inclined (runs in family of mechanics) but this van always passes???? and now double NOppm?

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
