recently , the driver side cigar lighter still on when the engine is off. And notice the battery is drain. after few days . I don't know what to do ? HELP !

Remove cigar lighter ? Must be a live feed , check and see if seperate fuse for lighter and remove if nothing else on that circuit .

Generally the cigarette lighter is powered straight from the battery, if you want what ever it's powering turned off, you have to pull it out (mine powers my XM)

In fact, in my 2001 Windstar on the passenger side. there has lighter plug in . this is always available . I believe this one is straight from the battery ( Hot Wire ).
But the driver side , when I plug in for cell phone charger . Normaly, I have to get the engine running, to have power . But now, when I plug it in , its " ON " all the time without the engine running ? It must be some where grounded or short circuite. Don't know where to trouble shoot.

Shouldn't have power if not pushed in , normally

Like my 2006 Escape , there has two lighter plug in , one is always have power without engine running. The other, only when I stared the engine. then have power on. the Windstar is the same. But lately, both are powered. thats why I don't understand ?

Strange , cant explain why it would alter .They done away with the cig . lighter on the cars over here , but the socket is still there as a power point for auxillaries etc .which in most cars is live " hot " .
