Hi folks, I need some help here.

When I've been driving for a couple hours and the van gets hot, it makes a clunking noise when you turn the steering wheel. If you pull over and stop, and turn the steering wheel you will hear a clunking metal noise.

It's a simular sound to worn CV joints, but the wierd part is it goes away once the van has cooled down. We only notice it on road trips, but it worries me because I certianly don't want something to break while away from home.

The thing is if I can fix it on the cheap that would be great, but the van has 174,000 miles on it so I don't want to sink too much money in it.

Any advise?

Have you Wheel bearings looked at or you Brake Calipers.
