Hey y'all, I gotta real weird one and hoping your expertise can help.
First off engine would not crank, lights on dash good, no sound from starter solenoid - replaced battery and still no start at first try, 2nd try ON - shut off then same symptoms - checked connections at starter, good

Got back in and she fired up!! Still didn't seem right so I drove into my shop.

Cycled key OFF and engine still ON - removed key and still ON - wiggled key in cylinder and finally shut OFF when in ACC position. It would do this at random!

I'm an Acura technician, so I figured possible short in IGN switch - unplugged the 7mm steering column connector ( ignition switch? ) and still ON, but dash lights and all electrical functions ie. dash lights, wiper, acc, lights, etc. OFF

Does anyone know or can guide me via electrical diagrams ( valley forge ) to figure this out? I know Fords are known for bad connections and harnesses, but before I start pulling my hair out I'd like to hear from you experts!!

Here's a link to Autozones repair guides. Check fig.#7. There are others there that will help. I've had one case where the windshield was replaced and it leaked down into the front GEM behind the fuse box. That might be an area to check. There wssn't a problem like that though.
