2004 Freestar camber

Is Camber adjustable on a 2004 Windstar? I took ours into our alignment shop and the guy told me that it's not adjustable. (The guy has been doing alignments for 30 years, so he's not a college kid in his first job) But when I was replacing the trans output seal, I dropped the strut out of the knuckle and there was definitely room to move the strut up and down at least 1/16 inch. There is a flag on the strut with a big hole for the smaller bolt. So moving the strut up and down should change the camber, correct?

The big issue is that tire was down to cords on the inside inch of the tread where the rest of the tire was fine. After I got the van back to the shop, I pulled the tire, loosened the pinch bolt and dropped the knuckle down at least 1/16 inch.

I am guessing that "THE BOOK" says that it's not adjustable, but what is the reality?

Bert, thanks for the information. It looks like according to the books, it requires drilling and other stuff.

Re: 2004 Freestar camber

That's correct. I did that on my wife's van and it was pretty easy.
