2004 Freestar torque Converter??
hi im new to this site. i own a 2004 freestar (daily driver) witch is driven about 100km or 60miles daily and a 1986 mustang (weekend car).
iv owned my freestar for about 2 and a half years now witch iv put over 160000kms on never had a problem witch brings me to this what are the signs of a torque converter going bad. the past two weeks (since i put my snow tires on) iv notice the van acting differently. the rpms will bob around 2000 2100 rpm while accelerating (no jolting nice and smooth) and other things like when the torque converter goes into lockup mode im starting to fell a little tug when it ingages. yesterday i was crusing down the highway at 120kms/hr and can to a complete stop for about 5 minutes then went to go accelerate it jolted like it didnt know what gear to start in but was fine after that. im an aperntice mechanic but i know nothing about transmissions. iv done all the fluid changes by fords intervals with all ford fluids went to ed learn to buy all fluids. so i dont know if im being just parinoid or is there somthing starting to fail in the trans. please if anyone has any idea whats going on PLEASE let me know so i can fix the problem before it dose any damage. i need this van i work 50km and go to school 70 km from home..
