I am being given a 2004 Freestar with really no problems as far as I know. What engine seems to have all these trans problems is it the 3.9 or 4.2? Or both? This one has a 3.9 and other than the typical rear hatch ( so I have read and she said) the original owner and friend said they have had really no issues with it. It has 105,000 miles.

I am not sure what you are looking for? Where have you read that that the Freestar has issues with the Tranny in a certain engine size?

Have you test drove the Van yet?
