Hi, Have a 3.8 in a 95 windstar. pushing fuel out of tailpipe. Codes are faults/misfires in cylinders 2 and 6. replaced fuel rail, injectors, maf sensor, temp sensor, air intake sensor, O2 sensors. There is spark. compression is good. head gaskets replaced. heads were serviced and the valves. Did all this and still have the problem. Not showing any other codes. Help!!

I had the same problem with my 95 Windstar, same engine. The #2 injector was being held wide open, was told by the dealer I needed a new injector so I replaced it myself but no change. I hooked up a voltmeter to the injector conector and found that the computer was holding the injector wide open. Replaced the computer and problem solved. Good luck!

i have the same problem with the 95 thats in my garage right now except for the fact that cyl 2 and 3 are just dumping gas straight into the cylinder.
replaced the injectors and all still have not fixed the problem.
what does a computer probably cost and is it a dealer only item !

I replaced the engine computer in my 95 Windstar on 6/20/06. I purchased it from AutoZone. It is a rebuilt exchange unit, cost $154.00. You will need the calibration code before ordering it, this is found on the passenger door post.
