Alright I have read around on the web and a lot of people point to the DRL module that's causing the problem however it is no where to be found. We even had the ford diagram but still no luck.

Currently the only way to get around it is unplugging the fuse directly from under the hood but it's a real hassle and forgetting to do so would lead to the battery dying.

There are a couple of other problems such as the rear window wipers no longer working, and the brights making little to no difference but I definitely need my first problem fixed first.

So if anyone could help me save a trip to a garage that would be great.

Do the tail lights come on too? Maybe your combination switch is bad, feeding power to the high beams. If you pull back on the lever, the high beams come on without the tail lights. It might be stuck there.

I tried disconnecting the combination switch but the lights still remained on.
