I have a 2000 Windstar and am looking for suggestions on front shock replacements. I have been looking and there of course are zillions of choices from Gabriel, KYB, Koni, etc.

I don't want to spend a lot of money as the car has 195K on it but it still runs great and I intend to drive it till it will not let me anYMORE.

So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I've had good luck with Gabriel. They are inexpensive, sold at most autozone stores, and they will stand behind them.

I agree. Monroe are EXCELLENT for not only the price, but quality as well. Depending on the shop they can even install and offer a lifetime warranty. Shop around, the choices are endless. However, for a high mileage van, I'd stick with Monroe as they tend to be just as good as OEM.

I install my own shocks, so I don't get a warranty! What a rip! Still, my average set of Bilsteins will easily last 100K without noticeable problems, and Monroe shocks and struts will last upwards of 75K, for the price I have no complaints.

You have a warranty on the shocks themselves don't you?

Generally they come with a 1-3 year warranty, providing I can find the receipt should I have any problems...
