Question carbureting a 460 engine on a work truck

so i have an 85 f250 work truck with a 460 and it is needing carburetor work. it has the stock holly 4 barrel and my question is can i get better mileage from a different carb, like a carter or edelbrock.it is cheapest just to rebuild the holly but if i can would like better mileage if possible
