Death of a windstar

(Faint echo of "TAPS" in the back ground)

Well Ladies and Gents, my 1995 Windstar has finally given me a reason to retire it. After 316,386 miles on the ORIGINAL engine and only one trans replacement. I have an electrical problem that 3 shops say the price tag to find is about $2900... And that is just to find out what is wrong. I have now purchased a 1998 Windstar with 136K and will see if I can get another 300K on this one. I haven't sean may Windstars with this mileage and wondering if this is common. What to you all have on yours??

Re: Death of a windstar

Certainly doesn't owe you anything with that mileage covered , hope your replacement is as good .

Re: Death of a windstar

I dunno, I think I'd grab some parts off of the old one and put them on the newer one in hopes that some of the luck follows them. That's a lot of miles for ANY car... 'cept maybe a diesel.
