confused Driver Door Ajar

I have a 2001 Ford Windstar Deluxe. The latest problem is that the Driver Door Ajar continues to display and sound. Of Course this causes the interior lights to come on and drain the battery. I have pulled the courtesy light fuse to keep my battery charged. I have replaced the door jamb switch and the actuator (my lock wasn't working right) and still I have 'Driver Door Ajar'. So, what is the next step in this process? If I disconnect the driver door jamb switch, what effect will this have?

Re: Driver Door Ajar

I have just sprayed my door latch with PB penetrating catalyst and no effect. Slammed the door numerous times and no luck. Looking for any good advice before I go to the dealer and pay an arm and leg.

Re: Driver Door Ajar

Okay, so I replaced the door jam switch, the actuator, the latch itself, and the relay. still the problem persisted. So, I spent the money and took it to the dealership. Within an hour the problem was solved. A broken wire where the boot connects between the door and the car! I was told this is a common problem. Easy fix. It cost me $90.00 to have the wire spliced! oh well. The problem is fixed.
