Hi all,

I have a 1993 Windstar that is doing something kinda strange, once in a while it will steam as though there is a leak somewhere on the passenger side of the motor. Seems to be coming from somewhere down low near the cat. converter. What's strange is that I'm not loosing coolant, yet I can smell it, the temp indicator registers normal, and it doesn't happen every day. Could this be a slow intermittent drip from the water pump?

It's very possible that it's from the water pmp. Especially that it's intermittant. It still could be other things, like a hose or freeze plug. A pressure test or look underneath and see if there are any trails that show where it could be coming from.
