i have a ford winstar 1998 the door ajar stays on and the doors are closed and the sprayed them with oil and it stiil is on which makes the inside light stay on . HELP

Hello
One of your door switchs is not working.If you have power door
locks,the switch is attached to the door module.The power door button
up and down will still work,but your door ajar will still come on,and your
interior lights will stay on.The most likely door switch that is pooched
is your drivers door,( That is a guess as the van is not in front of me).
You can get the door switch from Ford,forget the cost at the moment.
project that can be done in your spare time on a Sat,sort of thing.

The rear gate has 2 switches in it. One on each side latch. Lube them up good also.

I had the same problem in my 1998 Windstar. It was the sliding door switch that was the problem.
