Hello Everyone!

First off...Hope all had a Merry Christmas. I have a question about something I noticed on the van today.

We have a 2006 Freestar Limited. It has what we always thought were fog lights down under the front bumper, however we could never find a fog light switch. One dealer even told me the lenses were dummies and there was no working light.

Tonight, my wife was following me home in the Freestar and I noticed something weird...Whenever she put on a signal light, not only would the turn signal blink, but the fog light on the same side would come on. It would just shine until the turn signal came off and then it would be gone. It was only one fog light and it was always the one that corresponded to the turn signal side.

Anyone know what's going on here? We've never noticed the light even working before, ever, and not it does this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

According to the owners manual, they are supplemental park or cornering lamp is located on the front fascia below the bumper and headlamps. So they are probably doing what they're supposed to. AFAIK.

Hello and good day to all:

Our 2000 LX Windstar Had the same set up...they looked like Fog's but they were really Corning lights, and only came on when making a turn.

From what our dealer said when we bought the Van, Ford never put Fog Lights on a Van. An if we wanted them we would have to install aftermarket.

The only thing I know is the Freestar's Owner's manual mentions a foglight switch (if equipped). We don't have the switch...

What's puzzling is the dealership said the lights are dummy lights and don't actually work and weren't really lights. However, they are obviously working as cornering lights. That notion is remarkably stupid, IMHO...
