I just purchased a 1993 Ford Aerostar Cargo van (extended van) with electronic 4wd.
My passenger side rear barn door has broken glass from a stray rock thrown from a lawnmower. I have received six estimates locally, and none of them are less than $500.00!
Is there some place I can purchase this glass? I tried ebay, but I was way too confused. I guess the barn doors were not as widely available and might be harder to find.
Once I get this piece of glass, how difficult to you think installation would be? Can someone who is not very handy get the job done?
Thanks for any info! I think I will love this van, but the wife doesn't want any broken windows....lol

Hello and good day:
Years ago you could go to a Auto Recycle Yard, and Take a use window out of a old Junk Car. If you had some tools and used a Thin Piano Wire to break the seal of the Caulking used to seal the window to the frame.
But I would not recommend this if you are not sure in what you are doing.
I am sorry to say I would recommend that you have the Professionals do this Job...Trying to do it yourself ends up in more headaches then necessary.
But if you are in a situation where you can't afford this...We hear can try to help you...There are a lot of guys that may be able to help...

Boy, I feel like a dummy! Somehow, when I bought the van, I thought it had barn doors. I have been searching for glass about a week now. I finally went to pick the van up, and guess what? It has a standard back hatch! What a waste if time.... I must be losing my mind! So now the question is..... I have a 1993 Aerostar cargo van (extended version). I found a standard 1993 Aerostar hatch door with good glass. Are they compatible? The door I want to buy has a wiper, that is the only difference I see. If you guys say I am good to go, I am going to purchase the door this weekend. Instead of paying to have glass replaced, I will just drive around with a different color hatch door. No big deal. Thanks for all of the help!

Hmmm
I would make sure you check Hinge setup to make sure...I would also agree with Bert on the link. And if you are getting it from a Auto Recyler I would make sure first...and their return policy.
