i have the p0401 code i checked the voltage on my dpfe sensor and seemed good on that. i hooked all the lines back up to the sensor and started the engine, i then applied vacume to the egr valve and watched the voltage and i only got a .1v change. same thing while reving the engine. shouldn't the voltage go up when the vacume is applied. if this is so then should i replace the egr valve?

When you applied vacuum to the egr valve did the engine try to stumble? If not you may have clogged egr ports.

the idle changed but not to the point where i thought it would die. also forgot to add that i did not start getting these egr codes until after i did the sea foam treatment to the engine. could that have caused the egr to get clogged up?

Sounds like the ports are clogged.

is there an easier way to clean the ports out other that removing the intake?
