Help replacing front wheel bearings

I need help replacing the front wheel bearings on my 98 Windstar.
I have never worked on a front wheel drive before and want to make sure I don't mess anything up.
Limited resources necessitate me doing as much of the work myself.
I know they have to be pressed in.
So far I have removed the caliper, caliper mounting bracket, and rotor.
Forgive me if my terminology is not correct, but I also removed the large 1" "spindle" or "hub" nut.
I put a 3 jaw puller on and started to try to remove the "hub", but stopped when all I was accomplishing was pushing the halfshaft with the cv joints on it.
I know there are probably special tools involved to do this correctly, but can anybody offer any advice?
Thanks, Ozarkcountry

Re: Help replacing front wheel bearings

You do have to push the shaft out. Here's from Autozone for info. You only need the first part for what you're doing. It would help to get a Chilton or Haynes manual for it. Iwould help with other things too. | Repair Guides | Front Suspension | Front Hub And Bearing | AutoZone.com

Hey Bert, Thanks so much for the info!!
The Autozone site is great.
I know the manual would be a great source of info as well.
Time to start wrenching!!
Thanks again, OzarkCountry
