ok i have a 96 club wagon xlt v8 5.8l, and i just recently found out that the exhaust manifold was cracked on the passenger side...soo i bought a new manifold and i wanted to replace it myself because taking it somewhere to get it fixed would cost me an extra $400-$500 that i dont have right now soo i decided to do it myself...soo i started to take it off i got all the bolts and the exhaust off it but then i ran into a problem at the front of the manifold there is the (EGR) the hose that runs from the manifold up to the thorttle body and the bolt/lugnut is about 1-1/2in. and i cant get any tools in there to loosen it up. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? I NEED HELP!!! ASAP!!!

Hello and good day:
I would strongly suggest to to use a PIPE WRENCH and some Liquid Wrinch. You said you can't get any Tools up there?? can you take the Intake Manifold off??
Also have you gotten a Chilton, or Haynes Manual ??
Please advise further.

ok i picked up a manual...took it step by step i had to refer to the EGR figures to find out how to take it off but after about 3 hours i took the cracked manifold out and replaced it everything seems to be running good i did brake a bolt off and its still in there and im running 7 bolts instead of all 8 hahaha i hope thats not bad theres no exhaust leaks soo i think it should be good. all i gotta do now is install a new filler tube since thats cracked as well when i fill it with gas some doesnt make it to the tank. haha
