high idle in gear

All, I have 2003 Windstar. Recently it has a habit of idling high while in gear at stoplights, in traffic, etc. It was usually idles at about 1100 rpms. This morning it was about 2000 rpms. Sometimes if I turn the van off and on it clears up. It seems to be getting worse as it is doing it more often. What could be causing this?

Re: high idle in gear

Have the codes checked at AutoZone. They don't charge for that. It could be the IAC sticking. You can try cleaning it with carb cleaner.
