Misfire with AC OFF!

Hey all, I have a 2003 Windstar SEL with 157,000 miles on it. I was having a issue with a misfire on Cylinders 3 and 6. I put it in the shop. They cleaned the carbon deposits from the EGR ports and plenum. I had some other work done too (tie rods).

Anyway. I picked van up from the shop on a Friday night. I drove it on the weekend to and from work (25 miles each way) by Sunday night the engine light came one for a misfire in Cylinder 6. I had it checked out at the local part store. I came up a Po306. I usually don't use A/C however, it's had gotten too hot to drive with out it. I drove it home Monday evening with a/c on. Engine light was on but I could feel it was running smoother.

Tuesday morning light was off. Drove it to a ball game Tuesday night with A/C off. It misfired and Engine light came on. After my game, I drove home with A/C on and Engine light was on but was running smoot again. Wed. morning light was off.
It seems if I drive with the A/C on the engine does not misfire. Thoughts on what it could be? Shop want me to bring back, but if it is something else I can fix, I'd rather not spend more money than I have too.

They should let you know what they find since they charged you the first time.
