Hi,

I have an old Windstar '96 3.8L V6. After driving it from somedays after I got it, I thought it would be a good idea to check oil level on my engine as usually old car burn or leak oil. What was my surprise? I could not find the stick to measure oil level. After reviewing possible location of this stick I notice someone block this with a little piece of wood.

So I went to Ford dealer and tried to get the stick and the skirt for it. Ford did got on stock the stick but they said skirt for it is no longer a part number they can supply and they recommend me to go and look on a car junk deposit to get a used one. I have go to several one but this skirts are either damage or not find my model.

Any suggestions on where to get it? I'm based in Monterrey, Mexico

Or normally under what name can I call/search for this part? In Mexico we called corbata but I'm sure is totally different in English.

I'd just get the complete "transmission dipstick". If I understand what the part you need is. I didn't know Ford sold the stick without it.

In my case is not the transmission dipstick tube is the engine oil dipstick tube.

Anyway thanks for your help.
