I have a 98 windstar lx that has been parked for maybe 8 months and now I want to get it back on the road as a daily driver for the winter. First of all I already changed the spark plugs and plug wires, second of all it has a flat and the battery is dead even though it's new because it has been parked so I need to fix that. I took a look at the oil and it was very dark so I need to do an oil change. What would be the best kind of oil and filter to use for this van and how many qts do I need? Plus I need to get my stickers for it too, what do they look for on a inspection?

I like Wix filters. They also make the Napa and carquest filters. It takes 4½ qts. of oil and it calls for 5w30.

This tells what's inspected and if you live in certain counties, wether an emission test has to be performed.

Thanks, I just seen in the o'reilly parts add that they have 5qts of quaker state oil and a microgard filter for $12.99. I might try that oil out and see how I like it.
