Power Steering Fluid Leak TSB 01-5-6
Hi again:
Ford should stop pissing people off because they might delve deeper into issues that would have been left alone.....
In July 2007 my 99 Winstar (93,000 KM) developed a power steering leak while we were on vacation. We had the van repaired (what else could we do) and the service order stated "Found the steering rack leaking at centre section and right outer rack seal.Re& Re steering rack swapped over outer tie rods. Flushed lines/filled/bled. Did alignment"
Now, after searching for info relating to my ABS light I come across a TSB 01-5-6 referencing 1998-2001 Windstar Power Steering Fluid Leaks which states....
"Some vehicles may exhibit a power steering leak from the front end of the steering rack and pinion, This may be caused by fluid leaking past the main shaft at the end seals. Action: Replace the power steering rack with a revised steering rack"
Any opinion out there if I should persue getting some sort of reimbursement from Ford due to a secret warranty?
Thanks again
