SHAKE E

My windstar has been doing good lately, no problems, hence the reason I am not usually on anymore, when i first bought it, it was horrible on the highway, replaced front tires(balled out) and fixed, for the most part, i have always had some shaking in the front end, the passengers in the rear complain about the excessive shaking, replaced rear shocks, both completely wasted, and its a little better, but not where it should be, what could cause the rear to b shaking so much, and as the front, what parts should i throw into the front end? i feel it shake in the steering wheel, so my guess is tie rod ends, any help would be appreciated, tnx

Re: SHAKE E

A rythemic shake is usually a tire, balance bent wheel or similar.

Re: SHAKE E

Tie rods shouldn't cause a shake. I'd have the tires and wheels checked.

Re: SHAKE E

just take it up to anywhere and ask them to check the balance? or ask them to balance the tires?

Re: SHAKE E

Yes, just tell them there's a vibration and they should check for balance and/or out of round tires.

Re: SHAKE E

last time i have wal-mart do my tires, if it helps any, if i go above 60 at any speed, my passenger, and myself can feel the van shake for a few seconds, then stop for the same time, then shake, then stop etc. It just recently has done this, do you think it is still the tires? This just recently happened less than a few months ago, i forgot to explain that in the post. sorry

Re: SHAKE E

Hard to say but a slight bump in the road can satrt a tire bouncing if it's out of balance. You could have lost a weight from a wheel.
