While driving my 1992 Aerostar today, smoke started coming from my divers side front wheel. I actually thought the engine was on fire. It turned out that the smoke was coming from the brake area.The whole wheel was very hot. Is it a brake line leaking? Can a bad wheel cylinder create a lot of smoke? Is it easy to change the brake lines?Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
You will have to check why brakes are staying on at that wheel . Could be brake calliper piston sticking , pads not sliding freely , flex hose collapsed inside etc. etc .Case of getting it jacked up and checking out to see what the fault is and fixing . Just to add , check wheel bearing also due to the heat on hub assembly caused by brake , usually cooks grease .
