SRS/Airbag conrtol module in 1996 Club Wagon

Hi all. I'm searching for some information on where this is located and how easy/hard it is to replace yourself. The airbag light in my parents 1996 Club Wagon Van goes off at times. (Blinks a cartain number of times then goes off). They had a dealership look at it and they said the module needs to be replaced but it'll cost about $1000 for them to do it. The dealership said its not a safety issue at this time, as in the airbags just wont randomly deploy, but that if they do get in an accident they might not deploy as they are supposed to...

If anyone has information or scans of a manual I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

I think that one is under the drivers seat. Unhook the battery for 5 minutes before removing or indtallling it. How many flashes are you getting before it goes solid?

Could also check wiring plugs /connectons under front seats , especially the drivers side as moving seat back / forward for different drivers can cause problems . Nothing to lose by checking .
