What is this problem???

I'm at work and my wife just called me. She went to put the 2006 Freestar Limited in gear and the traction control light came on. The van wouldn't budge. She hit the button for the traction control and the van immediately went into gear and drove fine. It's a clear sunny day, about 85 degrees and bone dry roads.

The dealership said it could be a "glitch" but that if it wasn't doing it again, they couldn't diagnose it. Anybody have any ideas?

I've read about Advance Trac issues and the dreaded transmission problem.

Is this one of those???

Realize, it is my wife driving it. I'm not totally sure she didn't do something else, and I won't get a chance to check it out until tonight when I get home.

Hope to hear some thoughts on this...

Re: What is this problem???

I have not heard of that happening. It is possible that it is just a glitch with so many computer controls. I wonder if it could have set a code? Maybe some one else can offer a sugestion.

Re: What is this problem???

I've never heard that one either. My traction control system will occasionally throw errors when it is raining (ironic?) but it has never prevented the drivetrain from delivering power.

Any OBDII Code Errors?? The PCM rarely give a Glitch in doing this.
